The youngest brother, LaMelo, a sophomore at Chino Hills did something neither one of his brothers has ever done; he scored 92 points against Los Osos in his team’s 147-123 victory this past Tuesday.

The Ball brothers are arguably the most talked about family in the basketball world. The oldest brother Lonzo, a freshman at UCLA, has been having a standout season and is on the road to becoming a lottery pick in the upcoming NBA draft. The middle brother, LiAngelo, is putting up outstanding numbers in his final season at Chino Hills High School and has already committed to UCLA to continue his basketball career. In a family filled with such talent, being the youngest child comes with a lot of expectation.

LaMelo had 92 points on 30-39 shooting from 2-point range, 7-22 shooting from 3-point range and 11-14 from the line. His 61 percent shooting percentage is incredible especially for the amount of shots he put up. He dropped 41 points in the fourth quarter alone. In addition to his 92 points, he added five rebounds and seven assists. Keep in mind he accomplished all of this in only 32 minutes of playing time. To put his performance into perspective, he scored more than Alabama’s entire team Tuesday night and they went into four overtimes, totalling 60 minutes of playing action.

The outstanding scoring performance attracted attention from people across the nation, quickly headlining all major news sources. After committing to UCLA at the age of 13, LaMelo has become accustomed to the attention. The star point guard has been under the spotlight already this season for his flashy shooting and outrageous depth. This latest performance just further establishes him as one of the best high school players in the nation. Stay tuned as he will likely put up more impressive numbers in his remaining two seasons at Chino Hills High School.
