True dedication to a sport takes a lot of time and effort, and senior Sydney Rosinsky exemplifies all of this. She has been playing on the LHS girls basketball team for multiple years. Even as a freshman she worked hard and proved she deserved to be in the starting line up. This has been a recurring pattern throughout of her high school career.

Rosinsky is an outstanding player and she is constantly working to grow her game. She pushes not only herself, but her teammates to improve as well.

Sydney has spent hundreds of hours in the gym putting up thousands of jump shots,” said Matt Daly. “Everyone should watch her work ethic in the off season and realize that Sydney is a great player because of the practice time she puts in during the spring, summer, and fall.”

During a high school basketball game, there are five players out on the court at all times. They are all there for a reason, to work together, score and hopefully end with a win. Successfully winning a game cannot come from solely one person, but Rosinsky has definitely played a large part in the Lady Patriots recent success.

“Sydney had 7 three-pointers in a very big game against crosstown rival Washington. Six of those three-pointers came in the third quarter alone,” said Daly “It is very rare that a basketball player can drain six three-pointers in one game, much less one quarter.”

The LHS girls basketball team will continue to push themselves and work hard. Their next goal is to either win districts or regionals and eventually qualify for state. Come support Rosinsky and the rest of the team on senior night at their next game Friday, Feb. 17 at LHS against Watertown.
