Small portion of Eat Fit Go’s breakfast tacos.

Eat Fit Go, the popular restaurant tailored to health and fitness gurus, has recently opened up a Sioux Falls location where I recently dined.

The restaurant-grocer mashup is known for its healthy, allergy-friendly and individually portioned meals. The menu features 38 different items for every meal time; breakfast, lunch, dinner and even snack time. Each meal is fresh, free of artificial preservatives and packaged to go. The pocket menu is quite helpful and details the calorie, protein, carb, fat and sodium content for each meal as well as a complete ingredient list. Almost every meal comes in small or large portion sizes and customers have the option to enjoy their meal in house or take it home.

I entered the store which was very vibrant and modern and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. Because I was a first timer, I was given a walk through of the entire process. I was faced with a very large fridge area that neatly displayed each product. After some browsing, I decided to try out the breakfast tacos made of ground turkey, egg whites and whole grain tortillas, topped with salsa. The package clearly displayed all the nutrition information as well as preparation instructions. I decided to dine in and prepared my meal in one of their three microwaves. All of the meals are packaged in microwave safe containers so I was able to just throw it in the microwave and zap it. The prep time was very quick and took less than a minute.

The tacos themselves were not half bad. I would not say they are the most delicious tacos I have ever eaten, but they were enjoyable. The ground turkey meat was surprisingly flavorful and the egg whites offered another layer of texture. After a dousing of salsa, I couldn’t even tell that all the ingredients were whole grain and healthy. Overall, it was a positive experience and I would recommend trying it out.

The restaurant is strategically located 3509 W 57th St right next to Great Life’s Woodlake facility and Sanford’s Wellness Center. The concept is interesting and has already seen success around the Midwest in its Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska locations. It seems to have special appeal to those who are workout inclined and offers a fast and healthy meal opposed to other fat-filled microwavable options. They are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays. For their complete menu and any other information, you can find them at eatfitgo.com.
