‘Everything Everything’ preview

Another sappy love story is coming to a theater near you! Just kidding, what teenage girl doesn’t love a happy ending? “Everything Everything,” written by J. Mills Goodloe and directed by Stella Meghie, is an unusual twist on the boy next door love story. The two main characters are Madeleine and Olly. Amandla Stenberg, commonly recognized as Rue from “Hunger Games,” plays Madeline Whittier. Olly Bright is played by Nick Robinson who was in the popular TV show, “Melissa and Joey.”

The story takes place between Madeline and Olly, who *gasp* fall in love. Madeline was diagnosed with severe combined immunodeficiency, SID, from a young age. She has to stay indoors at all times, so that she will not react with anything that is not “sanitized.” The only people in Madeline’s life are her mom and her nurse, Carla. She does everything within her house, and she has seen the outdoors but never experienced them. Madeline, or Maddy, as she is referred to in the movie, longs to experience what is beyond her front door. Olly moves in next door and immediately takes an interest in Madeline. They begin talking and exchanging glances in between their bedroom windows. One day, Carla sneaks Olly in so that the two can finally meet. Olly and Maddy start meeting regularly and talk about going outside. Maddy’s mom figures out Olly and Maddy have been meeting and ban the two from ever seeing each other again. They keep talking in secret and eventually decide to sneak Maddy out to go to Hawaii. The final parts of the previews show images of Olly and Maddy enjoying the island, but finally there are flashes of Maddy in the hospital. It is unknown what Maddy’s future entails, but the movie will tie up any loose ends.
