Six minutes throughout the building: I need that extra minute
Written by Kirsten Nyberg
What happened to all of our time? This year, the administration at LHS changed the amount of time students have to pass through the hallways on their way to classes. Instead of the usual seven minutes, there now is only six minutes to get to class.. At first, this seemed like no big deal and those sixty seconds were forgotten. As a senior, I have never felt like I would be late for a class. However, now I find myself practically running from the A wing to the E wing just to make it to class on time. Freshmen are supposed to be the only ones to do that. Tasks such as going to my locker, bathroom, or simply catching up with friends seem impossible. I have yet to be swept during my years at LHS, but now I feel like my time may come. LHS staff wants to see the number of students being swept decrease but how can that be when they cut our passing time? I suggest that we go back to the time when we had those extra sixty seconds. Fewer kids will be swept, and the administration will be pleased.
