Music in the hallways: Innovative, effective, cool!

Whoever came up with the idea of playing music in the hallways between classes was a genius. The one minute before class when music plays is great way to spice up the day at LHS. The purpose of the music is to make sure students get to class on time.

One minute before class starts, preselected music from artists such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Chris Brown, and Kevin Rudolf, plays through the hallway speakers throughout the school. From what I’ve seen in the hallways, this method is working. As soon as students hear the music, they shut their lockers and dance to class before being tardy.

Even the teachers enjoy the music. Teachers are happy when they don’t have to sweep kids students to the cafeteria, and the video of Mr. Rice dancing in the hallway was hysterical (If you haven’t seen it, ask some of your teachers to show your class). Although hearing Lady Gaga scream at me to “Just Dance!” can get repetitive, playing music in the hallways is a great way to liven up the hallways here at LHS.
