Miley Cyrus gave us a warm welcome to her new album with her new single and music video “Malibu,” which came out on May 11, 2017. It gave people a feel for what her album may be like, which fans are anticipating will be released soon. As for what kind of music it will be, people are assuming it will be a toned down pop album. “Malibu” is a sort of soft-pop song, which is what seems to be what most are expecting out of the album.

Many people know Cyrus for her wild phase, but it appears that she has stepped out of that stage in her life, has settled down a bit and is going back to what she used to know before her “Bangerz” album. This stage lasted quite a long time for Cyrus’ fans, and many are grateful to know she is sort of back to the Miley Cyrus people used to know with her more calm and mild music.

In Cyrus’ recent interview with Billboard Magazine, she explains how it has been her complete decision to do everything lately to get back on track.

“This is crazy, but I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks,” said Cyrus. “It’s the longest I’ve ever [gone without it]. I’m not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now!”

For this album, Cyrus knows exactly where she wants her head to be mentally. Whether other people want that or not is not what matters. What matters to her is what is in her heart, so it is safe to say that this change musically and in her life has been on Cyrus’ watch, no one else’s.

“I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open,” said Cyrus. “And I was noticing, it’s not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clear and sharp, because I know exactly where I want to be.”

This interview and “Malibu” has left many people eager to hear the new album that Cyrus has on the way, with her new music and life phase in tact.
