The wait is almost over. Macklemore is set to release his first solo album in 12 years titled “Gemini” on Sept. 22, and the world is ready for it.

The track list is stacked with features in nearly every song, and artists such as Lil Yachty, Kesha and Skylar Grey are adding to the hype generated by Macklemore’s music comeback. Tracks such as “Glorious” and “Marmalade” already are available to the public and continue to climb the charts in the days leading up to “Gemini’s” release.

As Macklemore gained a following over his 2012 hit album “The Heist” with Ryan Lewis, their 2016 creation “This Unruly Mess I’ve Made” failed the dexterity to meet anticipation – something that is crucial to survive the commercial market. While his last album brimmed with tracks aimed towards political and social outcry, Macklemore is now shifting his musical craft towards spontaneous and energy focused lyrics in hopes that the public will find a connection between his artistry and their own lives.

With the success of “The Heist” and the downfall of “This Unruly Mess I’ve Made,” it is difficult to entirely predict how “Gemini” will do once it hits stands. However, while Macklemore stays true to his hip-hop feel and adds new voices from major and big-time artists, “Gemini’s” future has great potential to resonate with the general public. Either way, Macklemore is giving his following more music, and after a long absence from record stores across the world, seeing his individual name on the shelves is creating enough buzz in and of itself.
