Throughout the history of soccer, most South American and European Men’s teams have been known to produce young superstars. Whether it was Maradona, Messi or Ronaldo, it seems as if the U.S. Men’s team has not created any new Neymars.

That has now changed. Christian Pulisic, who is just 19 years of age, plays on the U.S. Men’s national soccer team as a midfielder and is the youngest player to represent the senior team in a FIFA World Cup qualifier. After playing for Borussia Dortmund in Germany, he then became the youngest foreign player to score a goal on the team.

Growing up around the U.S. and in parts of England, Pulisic played with different club teams and trained with local professional teams. He moved to England, in an effort to avoid having to get a work visa, Pulisic applied and successfully got Croatian citizenship, therefore European Union citizenship. Even with Croatia trying to recruit Pulisic, he still decided to play with the USMNT. He then became the youngest person in the modern era to score at the age of 17.

Many have also started to argue that Pulisic is the U.S. first world class player. Even with players like Howard, Dempsey and Bradley, Pulisic is still the star of the USMNT and of all the MLS teams.
