Best way to spread Christmas cheer

Chloe Crissman, Staff Writer

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear, but if you are not a gifted singer, here are some other ways to ring in the holiday season.

  • Grab some friends and head to the hills for some sledding.
  • Make lots and lots of Toll House cookies and then eat them as fast as you can.
  • Fill your yard with snow angels (snow must be present).
  • Head to the Ice Plex or Tut Hill to go skating.
  • Watch all of the classic Christmas movies with your favorite people. My suggestions are: Elf, The Grinch, The Christmas Story and anything on Hallmark.
  • Snuggle up by the fire with a fuzzy blanket. Do not forget the hot chocolate.

By this time in the year, Mariah Carey’s, “Merry Christmas” and Michael Bublé’s, “Christmas,” album should be on repeat. If you do not know every word to “All I Want For Christmas Is You” or “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” then you are doing Christmas wrong.

Some of the best ways to spread Christmas cheer involve the most selfless of things. This Christmas season, volunteer at a local establishment and give your time to those in need. Walk some pups at the Humane Society or go sit with some elderly patients at the Inn on Westport. There are plenty of ways to make this holiday season extra special.
