Earlier today soccer star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, decided to opt out of his contract with Manchester United. The scoring machine managed to make 29 goals during his time playing for the Red Devils. Despite his impressive numbers, Ibrahimovic only played a total of 53 games during his time with the club. Ibrahimovic has suffered from many injuries including a damaged knee ligament that put him on the bench for his first season at Old Trafford.

“Everyone at the club would like to thank Zlatan for his contribution to the team since his arrival and wishes him well for the future,” said United head coach, Jose Mourinho.

Ibrahimovic ended up signing with the American club, L.A Galaxy. The two parties agree to a one year three million dollar deal. He joins teammates Ashley Cole, Ola Kamara and Joao Pedro. With the addition of Ibrahimovic the Galaxy are favored to win the MLS Cup. Winning is nothing new for the Galaxy, they have won three of the past seven titles. The addition of Ibrahimovic gives the Galaxy a major edge on the offensive side of the ball. Not to mention his ability to play on the defensive side of the ball as well.

With Ibrahimovic being 36 his career is surely coming to a close in the near future. Hopefully Ibrahimovic can win a few more titles during his time with the Galaxy. A change of scenery could be just what he needs.
