Minnesota Timberwolves end the drought

For the past 14 seasons, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been without a playoff appearance. Going back all the way to the 2004 roster with Kevin Garnett, the Wolves have finally put together a team strong enough to make the postseason and show their worth.

Led by Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns, the Wolves look to take advantage of what they have been given; a playoff spot. Already down 1-0 in the series against the number one seeded Houston Rockets, the eight seed Wolves look to carry their late season momentum into the series.

With the exit of SG Butler a few months back, the team took a turn for the worst. The wolves rapidly fell from the three seed in the West all the way down to the eight seed. This showed how much the young team values their leader, who they will have going into the rest of the playoffs.

The matchup is a lot more complicated for the Wolves than it may look. Some look at the Rockets roster and only see James Harden and Chris Paul. Well, they have one of the most complex and versatile rosters in the league, being able to score outside, where they lead the league, and also bang down low in the paint with big man Clint Capela.

When the trio of Harden, Capela and Paul played together this season, not many teams were able to compete. With all three of them in full health and the rest of their stacked supporting cast right behind them, they are ready to show the world why they were the best team in the league this season and deserving of the one seed.

Although the Wolves may look shorthanded compared to the Rockets, Butler and Towns will force their will against Harden and Co. and give flashes of the team they once were mid-season.
