Beerbongs and Bentleys

Ever since Post Malone changed his Twitter account name to “Beerbongs & Bentleys,” many fans have begun to speculate that he was working on a new project. Malone initially said that he will be done with “Beerbongs and Bentleys” in mid-December 2017, but that, unfortunately, did not happen. The teasing finally ended when he dropped his album on April 28.

Malone’s previous album, “Stoney,” hit out of the park and won multiple awards. The hopes were set just as high for his new album. “Beerbongs and Bentleys” became Platinum certified a little under 15 hours since it was dropped on April 28. The success of his previously released songs: ‘Psycho,’ ‘Candy Paint’ and ‘Rockstar’ helped the album take off.

There is no doubt that Malone took his sweet time while working on this album. While making every song unique, Malone took on a different mindset for this album compared to “Stoney.” After Malone dropped his first album, tweets such as “who broke Post Malone’s heart” filled my feed. Malone made “Beerbongs and Bentleys” feel “more alive” and electric. His song names were noticeably different and relatable compared to songs in “Stoney”. For example: ‘I Fall Apart’ to ‘Better Now,’ ‘Big Lie’ to ‘Blame It On Me,’ ‘Leave’ to ‘Stay’ and ‘Money Made Me Do It’ to ‘Rich & Sad.’

Malone’s song ‘Zack and Codeine’ is a reference to the classic Disney show “The Suite Life Zack and Cody.” With the first lyric being, “Man, my life so sweet, I feel like Cody,” and later referencing the hotel lobby: “we turned the hotel lobby into a party,” this song is an homage to one of the greatest TV shows of all time.

If you have not listened to “Beerbongs and Bentleys” yet, you definitely should check it out!
