It is a rare occasion when one wants to be in Sioux City, IA but Friday, May 4 was one of those nights. Post Malone made his way through the road construction to perform at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino where thousands of fans waited for him.

An upcoming artist, Paris, warmed up the crowd for 21 Savage and Post Malone. Paris claimed to be living on the rooftops just a few months earlier but is now on the way up. Many fans did not recognize his music but still danced and went along with it. His attire was one of a kind, to say the least; wearing skinny jeans, no shirt and having long brown hair.

After the little hype up from Paris, 21 Savage came on stage and sang some of his most popular songs such as: “Bank Account” and “X,” which left the crowd even more hyped to see Post Malone perform.

Post Malone finally made his appearance around 9:30 p.m. and started out with his banger “Too Young.” After he performed his first song, everyone knew that the night would go down in Sioux City history.

Post Malone offered many cuts from his new album “Beerbongs and Bentleys.” Since the album was released a week prior to the concert, Post Malone said he did not expect everyone to know the lyrics “because I don’t know them, either.”

The atmosphere of the concert was like no other. The Hard Rock was filled with high energy from the beginning of the night to the very end. The crowd was filled with screaming fans which made everyone feel alive from the inside out.

“The atmosphere was lit. It was full of positive energy and extremely upbeat,” said LHS junior, Grant Treiber. “He interacted with the crowd which made it even more fun. I just wanted to jump around and sing.”

Post Malone kept the performance unpredictable which kept the fans engaged. The tone of the concert was always changing; from singing his heartbreak song “I Fall Apart” which left the crowd heavy, to his new release “Spoil My Night,” which caused the crowd to go crazy. Fans, like Treiber, thought his whole performance was unforgettable.

“My favorite part about the concert was when Post Malone smashed his guitar on stage,” said Treiber.

Post Malone did not let his fans down. Many thought he was just as good and maybe even better performing live than compared to his studio versions.

“Post is the best performer live I have ever seen,” said Treiber.
