Donut worry, Dunkin’ Donuts is enroute

Ever since Krispy Kreme Donuts closed their doors in Sioux Falls, Fly Boy Donuts and Daylight Donuts have had little competition. However, competition will likely arise soon, based on the announcement by Dunkin’ Donuts to open a new location here in town.

Dunkin’ Donuts is the world’s leading baked goods and coffee chain, the eighth-largest fast food chain in the world and has more than 11,000 locations, leaving some Sioux Falls residents confused at the fact that SD does not already have one.

“I have been waiting for Sioux Falls to open a Dunkin’ Donuts for so long,” said Grace Hennies, a senior at LHS. “That’s the first place I go to when I am out of town if they have it.”

Obviously, Dunkin’ Donuts is known for their donuts, hence the name, but they are also known for their drinks, especially coffee. They provide both iced and hot coffees and serve all the specialty drinks, as well.

“Personally, I am mostly excited for Dunkin’ Donuts to come because of their coffee,” said Hennies. “Don’t get me wrong, I love their donuts, but they have one of the best iced caramel macchiatos out there.”

There are also other breakfast foods that are available for purchase, such as, their signature sausage, egg and cheese sandwich or their crispy hash browns, but if you are going to go to a donut shop, it is necessary to try their donuts. Some of their popular donuts include:

  • Glazed
  • Old Fashioned
  • Boston Kreme
  • Strawberry frosted
  • Cinnamon
  • Glazed blueberry
  • Double Chocolate

This is just a small list of well-known donuts at Dunkin’ Donuts. The chain actually offers more than 70 different donuts, including their beloved classics and regional flavors.

According to siouxfalls.business.com, the Dunkin’ Donut representatives stated that they will open as soon as they find someone to franchise the market. This means executives must open at least 10 locations. So, if someone could get on that, that would make Sioux Falls an even happier town than it is now.
