“Ralph Breaks the Internet”

“Ralph Breaks the Internet” came out on Nov. 21, 2018, and I just could not have been more excited to see the sequel.
The movie is about video game characters Ralph (voiced by John Reilly) and Vanellope (voiced by Sarah Silverman) who go on a journey into the infamous Internet to help Vanellope’s game from getting unpulled, which is the equivalent to death in the movie.
Ralph and Vanellope’s video games are located in Litwik’s arcade in the “human” world. Ralph belongs to the game Fix-it Felix Jr., and Vanellope is from the game Sugar Rush, an interactive kid racing game, but she craves more than just the same boring tracks and power-ups. When Ralph’s attempts to spice up Vanellope’s game, he, in turn, ends up causing the destruction of the steering wheel, so Vanellope’s game is in danger of getting unplugged. So the best friends duo make a decision to journey to the Internet. After a couple wrong turns and choices, Ralph and Vanellope are pitted against each other and forced to let their true feelings out to one another.
Reilly is a famous American actor who originally got his start in the war film “Casualties of War”. He is most famously known for his role in “Step Brothers,” the hilarious comedy starring Reilly and Will Ferrell. Silverman is an American stand-up comedian, actress, producer and writer. She has had many late night comedy shows which includes her most recent late-night talk show, “I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman”. I especially adored the character Shank (voiced by Gal Godot). Godot is most famously known for her playing the character Wonder Woman in DC films or her role in the Fast and Furious movies. All of these actors voiced their parts perfectly and their personalities really came to life throughout the film.
I loved pretty much everything about the movie. It is a perfect sequel to “Wreck it Ralph” and has many characters from the first movie, like Fix-it Felix Jr. and Sergeant Calhoun, who were even better the second time around as parents. There are new characters like the shady cab driver who ends up saving the day, and the new cool racing driver Shank who lures Vanellope in with her insane driving skills. But the movie was a little long for my liking, almost a full two hours. Which in my mind seemed like it was going to go on forever, but overall was a really great movie and I definitely recommend going to go see it in theaters.
This movie teaches the audience “If you love it, let it go;” even if it hurts a lot it, will be for the better in the end. Ralph learns this lesson with Vanellope, and they become even closer friends at the end of the movie. I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves animated cartoon characters, with the target audience being between five and 18 years old.
In the end, I honestly thought the movie was cute, funny and heartfelt, and I strongly recommend watching it.
Update: 12/10/18
Wonder Woman was previously referred to as a Marvel character, when in fact the character belongs to DC universe. This has since been corrected.
