There are so many delicious sweet treat options in the Sioux Falls area.

Summer is filled with sunshine, fun and you cannot forget about all the amazing sweet treats in Sioux Falls.

  • Sub Zero

Sub Zero is a dessert shop in Sioux Falls that has items such as rolled ice cream and shaved ice. Sub Zero has been open since July 1, 2019, and is located on 41st street in the parking lot of Your Pet Stop. They have a wide variety of flavors on their menu, with around 16 rolled ice cream flavors and around 12 signature shaved ice flavors. They also have a build your own shaved ice section. In that section, customers can pick up to three flavors, their toppings and whether or not to add ice cream on top. Overall, Sub Zero has some of the most fun summer treats and they are one of the few rolled ice cream places in town.

  • B&G Milkyway

Milkyway is one of the most popular ice cream places in town. Milkyway has eight locations in the Sioux Falls area and is only open during the summertime. They do not just serve ice cream; they also have hot foods such as fries and hotdogs. For their sweet treats, they have sundaes, avalanches, slushwhips, shakes, malts, floats and pretty much any ice cream combination you can think of. Most of the time the lines can be extremely long, but it goes by fast since they are an efficient company.

  • Stensland Family Farms

Stensland started as a dairy farm outside of Larchwood, IA, and then turned into an outstanding ice cream shop in Sioux Falls. The dairy they produce is used to make cheese curds, milk and ice cream. Stensland has three ice cream shops in Sioux Falls where they serve waffle cones, dipped ice cream, ice cream sandwich cookies, floats, sundaes and ice cream cake. They also serve all the other products they produce on their farms. Stensland is definitely an ice cream shop I recommend stopping by this summer.

  • Sweetcheeks

Sweetcheeks has not opened yet, but they plan to be open by the end of summer. Sweetcheeks is located on 69th Street and Louise Avenue by the new Starbucks. Sweetcheeks will be a self-serve frozen yogurt shop just like Cherry Berry, but they will have ice cream as well. They will have toppings and the cost will vary by weight. Sweetcheeks will definitely be a popular option since most ice cream shops in Sioux Falls are nothing like this.

Sioux Falls has a variety of sweet treat options to keep your sweet tooth satisfied all summer long.
