Hunting for a good movie try, ‘Good Will Hunting’

“Good Will Hunting” is a story about a working-class man who is a genius and knows he is a genius. A man who holds back because of the abuse he endured as a child. We first meet Will Hunting (Matt Damon) as a janitor at the prestigious MIT Tech in Boston, Massachusetts.

Will’s relationship with his friends is the driving force of his life. Anyone of them if they asked would do anything for the other. Will’s best friend is Chuckie (Ben Affleck) who sees the potential in Will, and only wants the best for him. The same goes for Skylar (Minnie Driver) Will’s love interest. When she asks him to take a big step in their relationship Will panics because he is scared to commit to someone because he has never had a consistent relationship in his life.

After ending up in prison for hitting a cop, Will finds himself getting bail from a MIT professor Gerald Lambeau (Stellan Skarsgard) who is aware of Will’s amazing math abilities. Lambeau works out a deal with the courts, that will allow Will to go free as long as he helps the professor solve math problems and see a therapist.

Robin Williams plays Sean Maguire, Will’s therapist, at the beginning Will is disrespectful and doesn’t think Sean will be able to help him. But this isn’t the case, Sean ends up being the first person that has ever been able to get through to Will. Will is afraid of change he is scared to put himself out into the world because Boston is all he has ever known. He is scared to try new things because he only focuses on the negative things down the road.

Will is someone that has held all his pain in for all his life, just letting it sit inside of him making it worse. Will is someone who can change, but that can only happen if he allows himself to be vulnerable and let go.
