Some of the largest fandoms on the planet include the infamous Beliebers, Twihards and Sherlockians. Some of these fandoms still have new material currently coming out for fans to obsess over, but others do not have this convenience. There are fandoms out there that have had to survive long periods of time suffering from withdrawal. One of the larger fandoms; Potterheads, know this feeling all too well. With the last book being published in 2007 and the last movie being released in 2011, fans of “Harry Potter” are due for some new material to swoon over and that is exactly what moviemakers hope to do within the next following year.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” is the newest upload in the “Harry Potter” franchise, with the novel being published by J.K. Rowling in 2001, the book is just getting an adaptation 15 years later. An announcement trailer was posted Dec. 15 of last year, but the movie will not be premiering until November later this year.

It is too early to tell whether the film will truly deliver, spinoffs are not always as mystifying as the original, but the cast and crew hand out telltale signs for an entertaining production. Both Golden Globe winner Eddie Redmayne and David Yates, the director of the fifth and sixth movies of the “Harry Potter” franchise and both part one and two of the seventh film will be working with the production. This is an obvious hint as to the possible beauty that the film could produce for viewers.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” is set in a time much earlier than the era of “Harry Potter” and set in a much different location: the scene is New York City during the 1920s. The plot consists of main character Newton Scamander, an eccentric wizard who, after getting kicked out of Hogwarts, heads off to New York City in hopes of finding new magical beasts within the wizarding world.

The new addition to the “Harry Potter” franchise looks to be a more Hollywood route, with quirky humor, glamorous costumes and multiple cameos from famous “Harry Potter” characters. This movie of course could never replace the original “Harry Potter,” but audiences and fans alike could find themselves immersed into a new, “magical” world.
