Vikes on the rise

Oliver Lockwood-Powell, Staff Writer

Growing up with six other Vikings fans, I have realized one thing, and one thing only: at the end of the NFL season there are tears on the floor and broken hearts flying about the room. As long as I have been alive, nothing but disappointment and anger issues have come from the Vikings season.

Just recently have the Vikings actually turned things around and are projected to start winning the NFC North on a regular basis. With the Vikes turning it around that leaves big expectations for them, even without their starting quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater, who suffered a torn ACL in a private practice during the pre-season. After Bridgewater got injured people have been doubting the Vikings and what they can accomplish without him. Well, as always, I believe that this is the year for the Super Bowl ring to be put on Adrian Peterson’s finger after a long wait for the “King of Rushing.”

With a 2-0 start, not only am I predicting a Super Bowl win, I am thinking about a perfect NFC North season, and maybe even a perfect regular season. Just the fact that the Vikings are being hyped up as one of the best teams in the league is some of the best news that Vikings fans all over the world have received in ages. Before the injury of Bridgewater, the odds were 20-1 to pick up the Super Bowl ring, and even after the odds stay the same with the signing of well- known quarterback Sam Bradford. I believe he can do just as well as Bridgewater would have, and Bradford has one thing that Bridgewater didn’t, the long ball.

With up-and-coming star Stefon Diggs and newly acquired rookie receiver from University of Mississippi, Laquon Treadwell at the wide out positions, the threat for the deep ball just grew larger and the pressure will continue for the Minnesota Vikings. With the pressure on full throttle, I believe that the Vikings will take the pressure with ease and cruise to a Super Bowl victory.
