This Week in Sports

Emily Whitney, Staff Writer

Here at LHS we take pride in all of our activities, especially sports. Fall athletics are now coming to a close, which means there is an abundance of important events this week.

Starting on Tuesday, the LHS girls soccer team played in a semifinal against RCC. They played a long game that resulted in a tie of 0-0 and double overtime. Unfortunately the team lost 0-1 which ended their great 2016 season and left many of us very proud.

The LHS girls tennis team heads to Rapid City to play in the state tournament. They enter with a current record of 26-0. Match play will begin on Thursday where each flight will face teams from all around the state. Finals will be played on Saturday.

On Friday, our football team also travels to Rapid City to face RCS. Their record stands at 2-4. They are hoping to take home the win to improve this record as the end of the season and playoffs near.

Last but not least, our LHS boy golf team played in their state tournament. LHS fell just behind WHS and tied for second with Pierre. This gives all Crazies a reason to be proud of the golfers and ends their season in a positive way.

LHS athletes are all working together to show how great our school can be. Many fall activities are ending their season in a way that adds pride to our school and the student body. This year is just the beginning of proving that LHS will continue to be competitive in all regions, and we will continue to be the best.
