LHS student of the week
November 28, 2016
LHS teacher Lynn Thomason chose senior Holly Fitterer as the LHS student of the week. Thomason teaches all levels of Latin at LHS. Thomason immediately thought of Fitterer, because she admires her and all of her special qualities that she possesses as a person.
“She is just so talented and she has so much potential and has so many of the qualities that to me are worthy of being nominated for this,” said Thomason.
Fitterer is involved in both Latin Club and choir at LHS. She participates in LHS chamber and concert choir, the top two choir groups at LHS. Fitterer also enjoys Latin. She really likes Latin for the great influence it has brought to different languages and how it connects to activities and tasks people are doing in the present day.
“My favorite part of school is just being challenged by my different classes every day, especially in Latin. I really like the challenges that come with learning,” said Fitterer.
Fitterer is admired by her teachers and peers for her qualities that make her the person she is. She makes a positive impact in every classroom she steps into at LHS, and works hard in all that she does, in both her school work and work outside of school. Thomason is grateful for everything Fitterer does in her classroom.
“She can anticipate what people need, both her peers and even me,” said Thomason. “She can pick up on things that are needed around the room and she’ll just do it. She is a very quiet person and does not expect any credit for the things she does. She doesn’t want recognition at all for it. She is an incredibly humble person.”
Fitterer is admired by many and will carry on all her great qualities as she continues to finish her last year at LHS.
