Patriot Pride cards make a comeback

Sidney Brower, Staff Writer

There is a saying that everything comes back in style eventually. For LHS our old, but now new trend is Patriot Pride cards. Patriot Pride cards are a way for both students and teachers to give positive recognition to each other.

Patriot Pride is an underappreciated committee that does many greats things to help improve LHS. Meghan Anderson-Finch, a member of the committee, was in favor of the cards making a comeback.

“I think they are great way to recognize people for the things they do,” said LHS teacher Anderson-Finch. “There are so many kids doing great things, but they may not have straight A’s or perfect attendance, they are just good people and we want make sure we recognize every kid and have them feel special.”

The Patriot Pride cards can be turned in for not only students, but teachers as well. Students can locate the slips inside the library and teachers inside the staff workroom. A slip can be filled out anytime and as many times as needed.

These cards are meant to encourage and show thanks to the people who work hard at and for our school.

“Random acts of kindness and things that would generally be unnoticed or that show pride in our school are great,” said Anderson-Finch. “For example, picking up trash, returning something to the lost and found, or students being kind to both other students and teachers. I think recognizing kindness and pride for our school are definitely things you would give a card for.”

Nothing is exciting without some motivation or reward and the Patriot Pride cards are not lacking anything. All cards turned in will be entered into a drawing. There will then be both a teacher and student drawn and a prize awarded. Rewards consist or Buffalo Wild Wings gift cards, Get N’ Go coupons and a few others.

It is our job as a members of LHS to support and improve the school. The time has finally come to show your appreciation, so get your Patriot Pride on!
