Senior point guard Carson Coulter has played a vital role in the last two basketball championships that Lincoln has been a part of. Having been playing basketball all four years of his high school career, Coulter has become more of a leader to his teammates and also make a great difference on the court.

“His leadership skills have grown considerably, and he is the one everyone looks to to get us going,” said LHS head boys basketball coach Jeff Halseth. “He does a nice job, has worked on his game quite a bit and has put himself in a good position and is not afraid to be the one to take that shot needs to be taken.”

As a two year varsity starter, Coulter took on one of the captain roles this basketball season and has lead his team in assists and has averaged about 11 points a game. To help his team succeed even further, Coulters assist to turnover ratio is the best on the team.

“Carson has got good ball handling skills, he shows good leadership skills on the court he is the one that gets us into our offensive and he is the one that gets guys into the right spot,” said Halseth. “He is the most experienced guy we have and is a starter from last years squad. He just knows what needs to be done in order for us to be successful.”

In a recent game against cross town rival WHS, LHS was able to snag a solid 73-63 win. Playing around 30 minutes a game, Coulter is able to lead his teams to victories like these. Even though Coulter is not committed to a college to play basketball right now, with his potential, the possibilities are endless.

“By the way he plays and the he shows his himself on the court I think he has potential to be a college basketball player and I hope he continues to want to pursue that as a goal of his,” said Halseth.
