The phtobooth at the El Riad Shrine was occupied throughout the whole dance by prom attendees who were smiling, jumping and using various props.

Although Spinsters just happened and prom seems like a lightyear away, before the seniors know it, we will be dressing to the nines again for prom night. Since all three high schools have prom the same night, venues are quickly booked. It is key for any dance, and especially prom, to be on the ball and to be prepared.

  1. The obvious first priority is attire. Many girls in Sioux Falls order their dresses online from shops not located in town. A few are freepeople.com, lulus.com and promgirl.com. The attire task is much simpler for boys and their shopping can mostly be done at the local Sioux Empire Mall.
  2. Reservations should be next on the prom list. Nice restaurants are already busy on Saturday nights and overpacked on prom night. Be sure to pick a fancy restaurant and book the group as soon as possible.
  3. An after prom plan is often put off but sometimes the most fun part about the night. Many groups go to All-American Gymnastics, go bowling, play lazer tag or just hang out at a group members house but whatever it is, it is important to get organized because it would be a drag to go home after dance.
  4. Grand March is somewhat new to LHS, but make it a priority to get signed up and are ready for the big debut. It is always fun when dates have something silly or something cool to do when it is their turn to go up. Be creative! Handshakes are overrated!

Prom has a lot of hype for a reason. The night should be filled with dancing, laughs and looking fancy, not stress! So, plan your stuff, organize your group and practice your dance moves.
