‘American Idol’ shocks past viewers to announce their comeback for 2018
May 15, 2017
Growing up, “American Idol” was always the show to watch on TV. Every week, the same day and same time, my eyes would have to be glued to the screen to watch this intriguing show. The original judges, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, drew the huge crowd to the TV, making the show that much more interesting. Cowell was known as the blunt one of the group, Abdul could have been recognized as the kind-hearted and nice one and Jackson was the chill one, but also spoke it as it was.
The show began airing on Jan. 11, 2002, and became the most watched show on TV by 2004. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, this show was an all-around hit from every standpoint. That was until the original judges left slowly one by one, and by the last few seasons, the new judge panel consisted of Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr.
With the new panel of judges and changing up of the show, the viewers seemed to decrease almost in half. The show was announced to be ending in April of 2016, and many fans were left to be disappointed. That was until just a few weeks ago, when it was announced that “American Idol” would come back to the TV screen in 2018, debuting its first season on ABC. This got the chatter going, and got many people to wonder who the judges could be. Some speculate that it could be past “American Idol” winners, and some are hoping that the original judges will come back and make it seem like the first season all over again. No matter who the judge panel consists of, it can be sure that “American Idol” fans will once again be glued to the screen, every week, the same day and time to be intrigued once again.
