Lonzo Ball ZO2’s
May 10, 2017
Lonzo Ball, or more recognizably known as LaVar Ball’s son, has just released his own shoe. ZO2’s are being sold at the cheap price of $495! What a steal!
The Ball family has made headlines recently for dad, LaVar, and his outlandish comments about his sons and himself. One of the most absurd comments being, “Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one.” Even though back in his heyday he averaged about 2.2 ppg as opposed to MJ’s 30.12 ppg.
Now the newest Ball news is on his son, Lonzo, and his shoes. LaVar spoke on the price.
“Lonzo’s shoe is symbolic. That comes with a price tag,” says LaVar. “Symbolic as he’s the first one ever to come in here without even playing a game and have his own brand. It’s not just a shoe you just go in a store or something like that and you say, ‘You know what, let me get the Kyrie, the LeBron… by the way, throw in the ZO2.’”
LaVar believes the Big Baller Brand is for “big ballers only and if you cannot afford these shoes then you are not a big baller!” This lead to criticism by many NBA analysts including Shaquille O’Neal saying that he needs to make the shoes more affordable for kids.
No NBA player has ever released their first shoe at such a steep price. Not MJ, not KD, not Kyrie, no one. The fact that the Ball’s think they will be able to sell a rookie shoe at almost $500 before Lonzo has even played his first NBA game is just as ridiculous as LaVar claiming his son will only play for the Lakers.
