What they say about April showers and May flowers surly rings true among the new set of entertainment on Netflix. May 2017 ushers in a variety of shows and movies perfect for everyone in the family, with some of our favorite classics making a happy return. Some of these anticipated returns include “Happy Feet,” “Forrest Gump” and “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”

“Happy Feet” is the perfect movie not only for the children in your life, but also for your whole family. In it we follow the story of a young emperor penguin named Mumble. He is much different than the other emperor penguins in that he does not have their distinct voice that will help him to find love. What he lacks in singing he makes up for in his dance moves, though others judge him saying it is just not penguin. Through the movie Mumble must learn to express himself in his own unique way, bringing viewers along for a funny and sweet adventure.

“The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” is a binge-worthy show perfect for teenagers and adults. This comedy follows the strange life of Kimmy Schmidt who was saved from an underground bunker which she was trapped in for 15 years. After this, she moves to New York in hopes of starting a normal life. Quirky and positive, she struggles to fit in with the rest of the grumpy New York life. Through new friends and crazy mishaps, she is able to adapt to the world around her and learn what it means to be a modern women in the big city. Funny, light-hearted and inspiring, this show is perfect for anyone looking for a good laugh.

“Forrest Gump” is a classic movie featuring the ever talented Tom Hanks. Through the movie, we are taken along with Forrest Gump, a young man with a low IQ but amazing heart. Though others try to quell his spirit, Gump remains positive and leads an exciting life. From being the star athlete on his college football team, to fighting in Vietnam, to running across the country multiple times. Even though he is able to gain these feats and more, the one thing he does not have is the heart of his long time best friend, Jenny. Taking us through all of Gump’s highs and lows, “Forrest Gump” is the perfect movie for those looking for a sad but heartwarming tale.
