In this past summer of baseball, there have been many records and historical moments that have caught baseball fans’ eyes, but none of them are at all comparable to what Giancarlo Stanton is doing right now.

The 27-year-old phenom is just entering his prime and seems to be one of the most powerful home run hitters of all time. His personal record 54 home runs and counting and also dragging in 113 RBI’s so far this year has many to believe that he is well deserving of an MVP season. The last time that 60 home runs has been accomplished by any player was when Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa both went over that mark in 2001.

Not only is it the home runs that makes him such a good player, rather his versatility to do it on both ends and be clutch when clutch is needed. The $325 million man is living up to his hype by producing both offensive and defensive excellence and leading the Miami Marlins to second in the NL East division.

What Stanton is doing right now in the game of sports is unbelievable. He went to the All-Star game in Miami, the Home Run Derby and is sitting on top of the league in many different categories, such as home runs and RBI’s. He has already broken club records, such as most homers in a single season by a Marlins player, and most consecutive games with a homer, five.

The 6’6” 270lb monster has already been tearing up the league for many months with his big bat and golden glove, but now it is his turn to make his mark in Major League Baseball history.
