MLB Playoffs update
October 18, 2017
The baseball season has come down to four teams: The New York Yankees, The Houston Astros, The Los Angeles Dodgers and The Chicago Cubs. The Cubs are facing the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series (NLCS), and the Yankees are taking on the Astros in the American League Championship Series (ALCS). Here are the cases for each of these teams to make it to the World Series:
Yankees:
The Yankees. The team that nobody expected to have a chance this season, the ultimate underdog. The “Bronx Bombers” have made it past the Cleveland Indians after coming back from two games down. Young guns Aaron Judge, Didi Gregorius and Gary Sanchez have led the Yankees through the playoffs. After being down two games against the Astros, the Yankees responded with wins in games three and four. You can never count them out.
Astros:
During the regular season, the Astros were second in the American League in wins with 101 and only one game behind the previously eliminated Indians. The Astros have the probable American League MVP candidate in second baseman José Altuve, who is defensively paired with Carlos Correa at short. Correa and Altuve make explosive plays both offensively and defensively.
Yankees vs. Astros, series tied 2-2.

Dodgers:
The Dodgers claimed the best record in the regular season with 104 wins. They were led by first baseman and outfielder, rookie Cody Bellinger. With continual quality starts by Clayton Kershaw, the front-runner for the National League Cy Young award they will look to continue their success against the Cubs after winning the first three games of the series.
Cubs:
The Chicago Cubs are the reigning World Series Champions, and they will look to repeat after squeaking out of a close game five with the Washington Nationals. The Cubs will have to squeak out another close series win if they want to beat the Dodgers, because they have dropped the first three games of the series. They will look to be led back into the series by Anthony Rizzo and his teammates who made up last year’s World Series team.
Dodgers vs. Cubs, Dodgers lead 3-0
