Is LeBron still the king?
November 28, 2017
At age 32, LeBron James is still going out every night and proving that he deserves to be labeled king. From thunderous dunks to great defensive stops, James has been on full display this season.
Age is clearly a factor for everyone and it seems as if James is aging like wine. In most major statistical categories, James is at a career high true shooting %, 3pt %, rebounds and assists. Almost averaging a triple-double, the king has led his team to eight straight wins and counting, going for that number one spot in the NBA.
With other superstars in the conversation for MVP this year, there is no doubt in saying that I would take James over anyone right now. He is just too versitile to stop on offense, scoring inside and out, as well as an underated defender. Averaging over a steal and a block a game, James has proven that he still has the bounce he once did as a 18-year-old kid who just entered into the league.
With others on the prowel for the throne, James has shown that he is still the alpha male, like hitting a game-winning shot over up-and-coming superstar Joel Embiid in Sundays contest against the Philidelphia 76ers. Not only is he leading his team to the top of the East, he is doing it without a point gaurd as well. With Isaiah Thomas out with a hip injury, and Derrick Rose out for personal reasons, James has been given the responsibility to bring the ball up and look to get his teamates involved as well.
With James only getting better and in the conversation for greatest of all time, only time will tell if the king will be able to hold off other front-runners and keep the crown to himself as the MVP of the NBA.
