On Tuesday, Feb. 6, Snapchat made its worst decision ever. They updated their server and with this update stories of your friends are no longer on the page to the right of the camera, but to the left of the camera.

People who you don’t even snapchat are now in your bestfriends list, and stories only appear when you click on the little circle picture of the person. What I mean by this is when you go to click on someone’s story, if you miss the circle, it will slide over and will start a conversation. This will appear on the other person’s phone also saying that you are typing to them. On the right side of the camera, famous actresses and models stories appear even if you are not Snapchat friends with them, and magazines appear even if not subscribed to.

Some of my friends got the update and hated it. When they showed me, I thought “wow there is no way I am ever going to update my Snapchat.” Of course my phone decided to update when I was sleeping and now I have the same unfortunate fate as my friends.

“I do not like the update because it seems like there is too much going on,” said LHS sophomore Carli Florey. “I want my stories different from my snapchats and it refreshes by itself which is confusing.”

All over Twitter I have seen different tweets warning others not to update their Snapchat. Here are just a few.
“PSA: Do NOT update your Snapchat and if it hasn’t updated yet, go to your settings and turn off automatic updates for apps!!!!! RT TO SAVE A LIFE” @FreddyAmazin

If you really hate the update that much, one tweeter figured out how to get the old app back.

In a world full of bad Snapchat updates, at least there are innovative people who are able to get us back to the original app. After some experimenting myself, I decided to follow the steps provided by @fxckcor and see if it worked. So while all my friends complain about the new update, I can rub my unupdated Snapchat in their face.
