Heading into the 2018 offseason, the Vikings franchise knew they were going to face a quarterback dilemma. With Teddy Bridgewater making his return late last season and starter Case Keenum leading the Vikes to the NFC championship game, the question was which one to keep.

It turns out that the Vikings would not feel comfortable going with either of their two options. Instead, they decided to look elsewhere for quarterback options. Their search brought  them to Washington, where quarterback Kirk Cousins just became a free agent. The two parties agreed on a three year, $84 million contract. The Vikings hope that signing an argued top five quarterback in the NFL will be what they need to finally get to the Super Bowl.

Cousins addition to the already thriving Vikings should help massively, not to mention Dalvin Cook will also be returning to the running back position after suffering an ACL tear early in the season, not to mention the phenomenal Vikings defence. With the combination of these two things, the Vikings are definitely a front runner for Super Bowl favorites.

Signing Cousins meant that the Vikings no longer needed Bridgewater or Keenum. Bridgewater showed no interest in being a backup for yet another season and decided to look elsewhere for a new home. He ended up signing with the New York Jets, who are in desperate need of a quarterback. Keenum headed west to Denver where he signed a $25 million contract. The contract is good for two years. For the Broncos, Keenum is a good addition to a struggling offence.

For the Vikings, offseason moves could be a major key to regular and postseason success.
