Every year, LHS hosts a senior party for the graduates that consists of many different games and activities that the students are able to take part in during their overnight stay at LHS. This event has transformed into a tradition that every student anticipates greatly. The theme of this years party is “Wherever You Roam, 605 is home,” which is a great thing for the seniors to remember as they follow their own paths to success, even if that path is far from Sioux Falls.

There are a few items that are essential to a sublime party, but enjoyable activities are definitely high on that list.

“We want the focus to be on all of the fun activites the friends can do together, such as glow in the dark dodgeball, inflatables, nine-square in the air, karaoke and so much more,” said Jennifer Selzler, LHS senior party Chairperson. “They can also snap photos in the photo booth and catch a fun show in the theater. The night ends with prizes and a hypnotist, which is always a favorite.”

It is easy to look past all of the hard work that parents, volunteers and teachers put into this party in order to enable seniors to have a truly incredible time. When at the party it is important to remain grateful while still having a blast, of course.

“It is important to have a fun and safe celebration for the graduates,” said Selzler. “I enjoy seeing everyone having fun and celebrating their accomplishments. The parents have worked very hard to make this a success and I hope the kids are as excited as we are.”

Some may think that the idea of spending the whole night with your classmates is just not their thing, but one is bound to find an activity they enjoy.

“This is the last hurrah before everyone goes their separate ways and it is a special opportunity to laugh with kids they may not always hang with and may never see again,” said Selzler. “And of course, it is great fun with their friends.”
