As the NBA season comes to a close, two teams remain: The Cleveland Cavaliers out of the Eastern Conference, along with the Golden State Warriors out of the Western Conference, will fight for the NBA championship this June.

Through the entire NBA season, seeds have been turbulent in the West, while staying pretty constant in the East. During the regular season, there was a swamp of Western teams fighting for the a spot in the Finals, while on the other hand there was a pretty solidified one and two seed in the East: the Toronto Raptors and the Celtics. As expectations were high for the Raptors, they seemed to have promise coming out of the first round, defeating the star-studded Washington Wizards. Enter LeBron James.

In the second round of the playoffs, James and company handled the team up North, with an overall series record of 4-0. As the only team standing that is not a one or two seed, the Cavs have a lot to prove. They must show the world that they still belong to take home the Larry O’Brien trophy, even with a short-handed roster led by James. However, defeating the Warriors will be no easy feat.

The Warriors, who held one of the NBA’s best records this year with an overall of 58-24, have a strong lineup consisting of All-stars Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Steph Curry. For the past few years, this star-studded roster has been giving opponents nightmares. They can score both inside and out, and they are also one of the best defensive teams in the game. If there is any chance that the Cavs win this series, which I think there is, James will have to go full-on robot mode…. nothing he hasn’t done before.

In my Finals prediction, I am confident that the Cavs and Warriors will stretch it to a game seven, where James will ultimately be victorious. Being one of the greatest players of all time, if not the greatest, James will not go down without a fight. Already being 3-5 in the Finals, expect James to dominate both offensively and defensively, contributing as much possible to help him get to ring number four.

With all that being said, it can not be a one man show. It will have to be spread if they want to have a chance against Curry and co. As the series starts tonight at 8 p.m., James and Curry will both look to put their teams up 1-0.
