The Empire Mall is soon to have a new addition: Forever 21. This popular store has over 600 locations around the world but this is the first in South Dakota. The announcement of the new location has excited many teens throughout Sioux Falls because of the stylish and affordable clothing that Forever 21 has to offer.

Compared to larger cities, Sioux Falls does not have many options when it comes to teen clothing, so the announcement of a new store delights teens greatly.

“I was super excited because I love shopping at Forever 21 but usually only get to shop there when I go out of town or online,” said sophomore, Reagan Elrod. “It is a good addition to the mall because it gives teens another place to shop and will cause students to visit the mall more often.”

The absence of many popular teen stores in the Sioux Falls area causes many adolescents to resort to online shopping, which takes away from the local economy.

“I shop online a lot more because there are a lot more options and it is quick and easy,” said sophomore, Peyton Johnson. “I think that if there were some more popular stores added to Sioux Falls then more people would actually shop in-stores.

Forever 21 offers a wide variety of different clothing at a very affordable price. Another aspect of the clothing store that helps it appeal to a diverse population is its different clothing variety and sizes. They offer plus-size, men and children’s clothing, in addition to the women’s styles.

The new Forever 21 is to be located in the previous location of The Limited, a women’s clothing store. There was no information released about the date of which Forever 21 will open, so anxious teens will have to wait and see when they will be able to start shopping.
