Keeping up with fashion trends is really difficult especially when the trends change so fast. This article is a fashion guide to 2018 falls fashion trends with helpful tips and recommendations. One article of clothing that is really in right now is teddy coats.

“I never personally bought or wore one [teddy coat], but they look super comfy and stylish and it can pull together lots of different outfits. If you like comfy jackets, add one to your wardrobe,” said sophomore Aubrey Dickerson.

Coats and layers are a definite yes when it comes to the fall weather especially in Sioux Falls. It can drop below the freezing majority of the winter time so cozy accessories are a must-have. Cute winter hats from brands like CC Beanies, Love Your Melon and The North Face are always a good idea to keep your head warm and your Instagram feed cute. More accessories that are very popular are colorful belts, scarves and overalls.

When wearing a monochrome outfit, pair it with a colorful belt and it can really make your outfit pop especially when you add a fun filter to your picture. A good idea is to find an exposed brick wall or solid colored textured wall, strike a fun pose, find your perfect angle and lighting, then add a good filter and bam you have a perfect Instagram post. Another tread that has been all over fall trends is button-down blouses. These flowy shirts can be very unique and make your outfit go from casual hang outlook to looking like a million dollars. These are not the warmest shirts but are definitely worth freezing your butt off. Where do you think the term “beauty is pain”  came from?

If you are an average teenager living in the small city of Sioux Falls, I guarantee you have been to Target at least once in your life. There teenager clothing brand used to be run my Mossimo but now have switched over to the new trendy line of clothes by Wild Fable. When first brought to stores, they featured lower-priced clothing and accessories that fit the fast-changing trends of teenagers. From tiny triangular sunglasses to plaid outfits. Plaid and Tweed have been all over the fashion community recently because there are just so many ways to mix things up with these awesome patterns. If you are not feeling up for spending all your cash on one shirt or a pair of jeans, try thrift shopping for once it might change your life.

There are many stores that sell lower-priced clothes at the fraction of the cost of retail stores, but my personal favorite place to go thrifting is Savers. They have a huge selection of clothing for everyone.

“My initial thoughts on thrifting were ok kinda different, but I’m down. I had my assumptions about [thrifting], but it is actually really cool,” said sophomore Rebeka Nelson.

As the saying goes all trends eventually come back into style. Especially overalls. Overall shorts, overall dresses and even just plain old overalls are a perfect clothing choice for fall. Overalls are very warm comfortable and stylish especially paired with a fuzzy sweater and boots. That would definitely be a look anyone could pull off this fall. Or maybe pair it with a cute colorful jacket or long coat. Typically longer coats are worn by more adults but teenagers seem to be stealing this look from the older generation. Coats keep you safe from the outside cold and looking good while doing it. I mean imagine walking down the street with your fashionable plaid dress, paired with knee-high black boots, a long coat wrapped around your shoulders, a hot cup of coffee in your hand feeling like you own the world. In the end, a good outfit can change your mood very quick which then improves everyone else’s mood around you.
