How celebrities are handling quarantine
April 14, 2020
The pandemic that is COVID-19 has greatly affected daily life for us all, including many A-list celebrities. Many of these stars are trying to make life somewhat normal not only for themselves, but for their fans too.
One thing celebrities are doing, especially musicians, is taking part in live streams. Whether they just want to talk with their fans during this time of isolation or even put on a mini-concert for their viewers, everyone is loving the continuous content they are putting out. Some people who have done this include John Legend, Lizzo, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. It is also quite common to see celebrities broadcast their live stream or “episode” and welcome celebrity guests of their own to talk about everything that has been going on.
Another way celebrities are interacting with their fans is by crashing their school Zoom calls. Matthew McConaughy, Kim Kardashian, Peyton Manning and Shaquille O’Neal are just some out of the many stars that have been surprising discouraged students during their online schooling. It also gives teachers a chance to laugh along with the kids and take some of their stress away.
An app that has played a big role in curing boredom of both celebrities and students alike is the social media platform TikTok. Through dance videos, comedy skits and so much more, stars have been racking up the likes as they keep fans entertained and show them what a day in their life of social distancing looks like. Some of the favorite celebrity creators on TikTok include new-comers Jason Derulo, Tyga and Justin Bieber.
Celebrities are also not only doing what they can to keep busy during these times, but giving back to their community as well. Numerous stars have been donating money to various charities and causes. Rapper Cardi B has partnered with apparel company, Fashion Nova, to give away $1,000 every hour until they have given away $1 million to those affected by the virus. Oprah has also donated $10 million in order to help Americans during the pandemic in multiple cities across the country. Some other celebrities that have offered a helping hand include Halsey, George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio and many more.
These are hard times for many, but thankfully, medical efforts have been made to fight this virus, along with billions of dollars in donations. It also helps that people can turn to their role models for some inspiration or simply some laughs in order to get through this pandemic.
