“Holy” has held the number one spot on the iTunes chart for the last seven days.

These five new singles do not need a whole album to draw an entourage, they do it all on their own. The most popular tracks of recent months have climbed the charts and do not plan on going anywhere.

  1. “Holy” by Justin Bieber Feat. Chance the Rapper

“Holy” is only a few days off the ground, but has managed to garner a decent load of publicity. The track displays a new facet to both Bieber and Chance along with an abrupt shift from their expected genre of music. “Holy” is assumed to be primarily based on the relationship Bieber and his wife share. The song reaches its peak when the chorus rolls around and Bieber sings, “Cause the way you hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me feel so holy.” The song maintains a holy theme with biblical references and a church choir to accompany Bieber and Chance’s lyrics.

  1. “Take You Back” by Russ Feat. Kehlani

This power duo released an angelic spin on R&B in late August, and the song is nothing short of great. With a heavy instrumental presence and lyrics parallel to a typical millennial love story this track deserves all the praise. The addition of Kehlani’s magical vocals adds a sense of superiority to previous songs released by Russ.

  1. “Welcome Back” by Ali Gaite Feat. Alessia Cara

“Welcome Back” remains consistent with Gatie’s previous releases, except for his first-ever featured artist, Alessia Cara. Without Cara, the song would gather an unwanted redundancy in comparison to his other tracks. Gatie rarely steps outside of his standard stylistic choices, and this song is no exception. Despite the complacency of Gaties’ music style, the song has found its way to the charts and has gathered positive publicity from fans and critics.

  1. “OK Not To Be OK” by Marshmello and Demi Lovato

Marshmello and Demi Lovato released a jumble of encouragement Sept. 18, 2020. The song files in line with the thousands of over-played radio hits, but presents a high-minded message to listeners, “It’s OK Not to Be OK.”

  1. “7 Summers” by Morgan Wallen

Wallen’s “7 Summers” secured the attention of many before the song was released to streaming platforms. After a one-minute teaser of the song went viral on TikTok, fans marked their calendars and crossed their fingers that the entirety of the song would live up to the one-minute snippet. After the long-awaited release, Wallen enthusiasts were torn. Many listeners ventured out to say the song was a major downgrade from the initial sound released on the app. Others accepted the song with open arms despite the polarity between the two versions.
