2020 has been a challenging year for everyone with lots of maybes and uncertainties. One thing that is for certain is that the 20th anniversary of Hallmark movies this Christmas season will be a beacon of hope and positivity to brighten the holidays. Over the past 20 years, Hallmark has produced hit movies like “Christmas Under Wraps,” “Let It Snow” and “The Mistletoe Promise.” Heading into the Christmas season, here are three Hallmark movies that must be watched:

  1. “A Royal Christmas”- In this royal romance, Emily Corrigan (Lacey Chabert) is a kind-hearted young woman who is proud of her blue-collar background and works as a seamstress for the family business. Corrigan is madly in love with her charming boyfriend Leo (Stephen Hagan). As their first Christmas together approaches, Leo tells Emily unexpectedly that he is actually a prince next in line for the throne of Cordonia, a small sovereign country. While in Cordonia, Leo’s mom, Queen Isadora, (Jane Seymour) makes it difficult for Emily to make herself at home. While Emily is struggling with changing her lifestyle to fit her new life, she tries to win over Queen Isadora. Throughout all of these challenges, she questions if the love between herself and Leo is enough to keep her royal relationship together during the Christmas season.
  2. “The Christmas Ornament-” The Christmas season is all about hope and for Newly Widowed Kathy (Kellie Martin) a little bit of hope might be what sparks her holiday spirit. While Kathy tries to avoid anything that will bring back late memories of her husband, she skips every Christmas tradition from her past. But when she meets Christmas tree shop owner Tim (Cameron Mathison) an undeniable bond might have what it takes to change her mind. Tim gives Kathy a Christmas ornament symbolizing the hope that makes her start to think about a hopeful future. Will the support of her best friend Jenna (Jewel Staite) and a promising romance with Tim be enough for her to embrace the hopeful message of the ornament and see a bright future?
  3. “A Christmas Detour”- Part of what makes Christmas so special is getting to be around loved ones, and for Paige (Candace Cameron Bure) that is all she is trying to do this Christmas season. On her way to New York City to meet her fiance’s (Marcus Rosner) parents before their wedding, she finds herself getting rerouted because of a large snowstorm. Paige, having her life built around love, finds herself leaning on fellow passenger Dylan (Paul Greene) who is not big on romance after a recent breakup. Dylan being a gentleman rises to the occasion and decides to embark on this journey with Paige being a respectful partner. Paige and Dylan are accompanied on their journey by an older couple named Frank (David Lewis) and Maxine (Sarah Strange)  who are trying to get to their home in Connecticut. As Paige, Dylan, Frank and Maxine embark on this journey together there will be plenty of unexpected surprises.
