The Environmental Ingenuity Club is a place for students to spread awareness about environmental issues that are important to our school. It also is a way to contribute to the community and give everyone information about certain issues that relate to us. This makes it easier for students to understand the problems going on in our world because they are more aware of them. Knowing the situation and being aware of it makes it easier to be interested and more willing to help out.

“I have learned more about my community just from being a part of the club, it makes you more aware of real-life situations and how we can do our best to help,” said Olivia Brost, LHS senior and Co-President of EI Club.

The club is hosting a “thrift store” on Feb. 18, 2022, which will be available for anyone at LHS. This will take place during Ad Room, on one of the school’s club days. Students can bring in any clothing that they do not want or wear anymore. The items will be set out for all students to choose from and explore. It is encouraged to bring in all sizes, a variety of brands and styles. Bringing in all different types of clothing items will provide a large range of options. When students feel more comfortable in this environment, they will be more willing to stop by and grab clothes.

If anyone plans on donating to the club and helping out our community, please bring the items in by Feb. 16. 2022. The clothes will be brought to Dietz’s room, and he will take care of them from there. For those who do not have access to buy new clothes, this is a great opportunity to get new clothes for no cost at all and with absolutely no judgment.

The club is a great way to get involved around the school and meet new people. It gives a chance to help other students understand more about the community and help to better the environment.

“I am very glad that I am a part of this club, it makes me feel content knowing that I am helping not only around my school but the community as well,” said Brost.
