V’s and plunges

Deep v-neck lines and plunge necklines are a huge picture in dress fashion right now. As the braless movement widens, there are more opportunities to wear fun necklines without worry. Brands like Urban Outfitters, Aritzia and many smaller luxury brands are including these necklines in their spring collections.

Flowy florals

Florals in spring. What a concept. But in all seriousness, the pattern is a classic spring staple that never goes out of style no matter what year you are in. This season we are seeing mid-size scaling opposed to large print last year.

Corset bodice

Corsets have made a huge comeback in the past year and a half due to Netflix’s “Bridgerton” blowing up. Many designers have implemented corsets into dress bodices (along with anything and everything else) in many different styles. There are edgier looks with bright colors like the new classic UO dress, unique smart-casual styles, modern subtle hints to a corset and of course the classic hyper-feminine corset dress styles.

Babydoll silhouette

Babydoll silhouettes made a bit of an appearance late last summer and kind of died down. Now they are coming back strong in all styles, similar to corsets. Many brands are advertising the babydoll silhouette in a new light; not as simply feminine but a statement piece with an edge. Combat or cowboy boots are most seen with this dress style this season, but there is always going to be something adorable about a picnic-style babydoll dress and heels.

Puffy sleeves

2022 seems to be all about taking traditionally feminine styles, hyperbolizing them and then styling them with an edge. Puffy sleeves (AKA princess sleeves) are a huge trend this spring. You can see them on any dress in any color or pattern. A favorite look by influencers is pairing puff dresses with old cowboy boots or Steve Madden Charlizes.
