A delicious and customizable smoothie bowl location has anchored down its first South Dakota location this past weekend.

On Apr. 23, 2022, Nautical Bowls opened its doors in Sioux Falls after announcing its arrival this past fall. It is located in the same strip mall as Crumbl Cookies and right behind Chick-fil-A. Overall, Nautical Bowls is a very fresh and clean option with a menu that consists of a variety of acai bowl options.

Nautical Bowls is Minnesota-based and the Sioux Falls location is the first location outside of Minnesota. Nautical Bowls was founded in the summer of 2018 in Minnetonka, MN by Rachel and Bryant Amundson, and they soon later opened a food truck in Eden Prairie, MN. Last summer, they decided to grow their company further and they now have a franchise program that opened around 10 more locations in the Minneapolis area.

Now, Sioux Falls has opened their doors and have brought the Minnesota-lake feel to the city. Nautical Bowls had a soft opening on Friday, Apr. 22, 2022, and they had their grand opening the following day at 9 a.m. The line was out the door  and the first 50 people in line received a free bowl.

The menu consists of a variety of smoothie bowl options and is a superfood-packed meal. They have 10 signature bowls and they also have a build your own bowl option. They have a variety of  different bases such as acai, pitaya, coconut, blue Majik, cacao, mango and chia pudding. . Additionally, they have many topping choices to pick from and  honey granola to add to your bowl. In the bowls, customers can add more than one smoothie base. They have three different sizes: the small(dainty) is eight ounces, the medium (cruiser) is 16 ounces and the large (yacht) is 24 ounces.

The building was nice and clean despite all the chaos from its opening day. Service was friendly and fast, and they even make the peanut butter right in front of the customers, which helps ensure that the food is fresh.
