Road trips can have there good times, but here are the things to do when there is absolutely noting to do.

As the summer months approach, it is that time again for summer vacations, and more often than not, they become a road trip with long hours spent in the car. Road trips can be a fun time, but most of the time it leads to us wondering “are we there yet,” or counting down every second until we reach our final destination. So what are some activities that can turn your car ride boredom into car ride fun?

  • Play games- When on a road trip looking at a phone for too long can lead to car sickness, so being able to play interactive games when driving by new things is a great way to pass time. Some of the must-play games include Ispy which will need more than one player to play. Another game is the alphabet game where the objective is to find stuff outside that starts with each letter of the alphabet. Another fun game for a long car ride would be the license plate game. The point of the game is to spot different license plates from different states and whoever has the most wins. These are just a few easy games to help pass time and enjoy the time spent in the car.
  • Listen to podcasts/music- Listening to podcasts and music is a great way to pass time if on a road trip by yourself or sick of socializing with the other people in the car. All you need to do is put in your airpods or headphones, turn on your favorite music or podcasts and enjoy the scenery you drive by. This makes the road trip fly by and before you know it, you will be at your final destination.
  • Watch movies- Watching movies is similar to listening to podcasts and music, but if you are driving this is not an activity for you. On Netflix, it allows you to download movies, so you are able to watch even when running into a place with no service. This is also a great way to keep you entertained the whole way to your destination.
  • Rest- Resting on your road trip is one of the last options to pass time. If you plan on doing this, do not forget a blanket and pillow and before you know it you will be at the final destination.

So, next time you are on the road and begin to wonder if you are there yet, remember there are plenty of options to help make the time quickly pass by.
