New emerging 2022 rapper?
May 3, 2022
With Justin Bieber’s new song release “Honest” on April 29, 2022, he also released an additional song and music video a couple days before. This surprised fans as Bieber provided a more interesting rap approach with the release of “I Feel Funny.” With quick crafting, Bieber may have created the most attention-grabbing, jaw-droppingly terrible song of 2022.
Originally Bieber had reached out to his producer, Cole Bennett, about remaking a visual to a song in between shots of “Honest.” According to People Magazine, Bennett “joked around about doing a video for it but never did. A few weeks later [they] were doing a pickup day for a video [they] had recently shot, but never finished (Honest).” During this “pick up day,” the director explained that they had some downtime between shots and exchanging the sets, so Bennett made his way over to Bieber’s trailer to make use of the time and produce their idea.
With a random appearance from previous co-star, Don Toliver, Bieber made his way around the set in an orange ski mask while filming the music video on Bennett’s phone… in 15 minutes. Throughout the video, you can also see the crew’s not-so amused reactions, which can be seen in the video when Bieber attempted to fist bump a crew member and was left hanging. Whereas teenage girls back in 2016 would pay their whole college savings to do just that.
Although the song was obviously a joke, Bieber fans are hysterically disgusted with what has been produced, specifically towards how embarrassing it is to be a Pisces right now. But Bieber fans stayed loyal even through the release of this song, racking up 2.9 million current views of the song on YouTube. Even if the song was not to be taken seriously, fans are split on the embarrassment of the song or the carefree vibe Bieber portrays. Whether it affects them or not, Bieber seems to be enjoying himself.
