Undeniably one of the most popular TV shows ever, “Stranger Things” season four has been highly anticipated by fans for almost three years.

Released in July of 2019, season three of this beloved TV series was no less than expected. Full of new mystery, cliff hangers and adored characters, season three let nobody down. Less than a week after the release of season three, fans were begging to know when season four would be released, already suffering from curiosity. Unfortunately, only eight months after the release of season three, the world was struck by a pandemic, which delayed the season four release to a total of two years and 10 months. Expectedly, fans are dying to know what happens next and to be able to watch “Stranger Things” again.

Fortunately, the wait is almost over. “Stranger Things” season four is set to be released in two parts, the first part being released on May 27, 2022, convenient for Sioux Falls School District students, who will be out of school by then and able to fully enjoy the new season. The second part of the series will be released just over a month after the first, on July 1, 2022. Part one of the series, released in May, will consist of five episodes; while part two, released in July, will have four episodes.

The nine episode season is expected to be another great one, with most of the season three cast returning. According to Rotten Tomatoes, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Cara Buono, Brett Gelman and Priah Ferguson are all set to return in season four. Respectively, these actors play Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, Max, Nancy, Jonathan, Steve, Robin, Joyce, Hopper, Karen, Murray and Erica.

Season four is set to be one of the most eventful and exciting seasons yet, with some of the plot already announced. There is a full trailer, each of the nine episodes are already titled and the Duffer brothers announced a statement about the upcoming season. Unfortunately, season four will be one of the last. According to the Los Angeles Times, “Stranger Things” will be a five season series, so there will only be one more season after season four.

Despite the bittersweetness of this being the second to last season, and the inconvenience of the two part release, the quickly approaching release date of “Stranger Things” season four is an event worthy of excitement.
