One of the most popular Thanksgiving events every year is the traditional Thanksgiving meal that many people feast on around the nation. There are many different dishes that are served depending on each family. Let us see what some of LHS students’ favorite dishes are.

Katherine Mickelson, 12

Favorite dish: Mashed potatoes

Why: Mashed potatoes are elite in their texture and savory taste. They compliment all other Thanksgiving foods and can be eaten in non-Thanksgiving settings.

Milena Vercellino, 9

Favorite dish: Pumpkin pie

Why: It is just too good.

Jonathon Falconer, 12

Favorite dish: Mashed potatoes

Why: My dad makes it with cream cheese, garlic salt, smoked paprika and butter.

Favorite dish: Cornbread casserole

Why:  It is delicious.

Favorite dish: Green bean casserole

Why: I like the way it makes my mouth feel.

Favorite dish: Apple Snicker Salad

Why: The fluff of the whip cream and pudding mixed with the crunch of the apple and the soft snicker is just the best. And the whole thing is sweet, what is there to not like?

Favorite dish: My mom’s cheesy mashed potatoes

Why: My mom makes this dish every year, and it is just perfect every single time. It is something I always look forward to. She also includes a secret ingredient that I, unfortunately, cannot say because it is a secret.

Favorite dish: Mac and cheese

Why: It is homemade!

Favorite dish: Chocolate bourbon pecan pie

Why: It is friggin amazing.

Maddie Gutzmer, 12

Favorite dish: Ham

Why: My grandpa makes this ham that he slow cooks in the crock pot, lets it marinate in honey, Coca-Cola and some other seasonings that just really bring out the flavor in the ham. It is one of my favorites every year. There is no other ham like it.

Favorite dish: Baked mac and cheese 

Why: It is really good.

Why: My grandparents always had put this dish out on the table.
