Netflix is constantly coming out with new releases, whether that is original movies and TV shows or new additions to your favorite classics. Many shows have recently dropped a new season as well. If you are looking for a new movie or show to binge, here are a couple to consider.

“The Hunger Games” – “The Hunger Games” came on to Netflix on March 1, 2023. Many people were very excited about this as it has been a very well-loved movie since it originally came out in 2012. “The Hunger Games” was accessible to be rented on other platforms previously such as Redbox, Amazon Prime Video and Vudu, but you could only watch it one time before having to re-rent it if you wanted to see it again. “The Hunger Games” is about the Capitol of Panem that maintains 12 districts by forcing them each to select a boy and a girl to compete in a nationally televised event called the Hunger Games. Every citizen must watch as the youths fight to the death until only one remains. District 12’s Tribute is Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence who the movie mostly focuses on.

“MH370: The Plane That Disappeared” – “MH370: The Plane That Disappeared” is a three-part Netflix original documentary that aired on March 8, 2023. This documentary goes into a deep dive over the journey of the Boeing 777-200ER carrying 12 passengers, which last communicated with air traffic control around 38 minutes after takeoff. When the flight was over, the South China Sea and was never heard from again. While no one knows officially what happened to the plane, this film looks into lots of theories and possibilities of what could have happened.

“You” Season 4 Part 2 – After a very popular first three seasons Netflix has come out with a fourth season of “You” that has been broken into two parts. The show aired on March 9, 2023. The first season follows the story of Joe Goldberg, played by Penn Badgley, a bookstore manager in New York, who upon meeting Guinevere Beck, an aspiring writer, becomes infatuated with her. He feeds his toxic obsession by using social media and other technology to track her presence and remove obstacles to their romance. The show continues to spiral from there but clearly has a lot to give as people keep asking for more.

“In his Shadow” – Releasing on March 17, 2023, is another new Netflix original film. After the death of their father, two half-brothers find themselves on opposite sides of an escalating conflict with the tragic consequences. Netflix original films are becoming much more popular meaning more and more movies coming onto the platform every day.
