After five years without releasing an album, Travis Scott released his fourth studio album “UTOPIA,” on July 28. However, fans may be wondering, is the album really worth listening to?
The album contains 19 tracks, featuring some artists like SZA, Drake, Teezo Touchdown, Playboy Carti, Beyonce and many more. This album has many features, and only six tracks do not have features, which makes this album a good choice for people interested in features.
“UTOPIA” begins with the track “HYAENA,” which starts off using an amazing sample from rock artist Derek Shulamn. After the introduction, Scott begins shooting out lyrics alongside a perfect beat.
Some of the most notable songs on the album include “MELTDOWN,” “TELEKENISIS” and “I KNOW?” The track “MELTDOWN” features Drake and has a trap beat with very great lyrics from both Drake and Scott. This track is one of the most popular and rightfully so, with it having 101 million streams on Spotify alone, with the album having only been released on July 28. “TELEKENISIS” provides a unique listening experience featuring artists such as SZA and Future. SZA’s part showcases beautiful vocals and provides the best part out of the five minute song. “I KNOW?” delivers a calm beginning and slowly picks up the pace later on in the song. This song does not have any features, which makes it nice to see what Scott can do on his own. The song is very well-produced and is definitely one of my personal favorites.
Other than the notable songs, each track on the album provides a unique listening experience. “SKITZO” starts off with a hype beat featuring Young Thug, and is one to just feel the vibe. The last part of the track has a more overall classic flow.
Overall, each song on this album provides a different experience when listening to it. The more times fans listen to this album, the more they will realize how each song differs from the others. I would recommend listening to this album, even if you are not necessarily a Travis Scott fan. I’d give this album a solid 9/10, with upbeat lyrics and amazing production.
