1) Birkenstocks: Birkenstocks are undoubtedly the best summer shoe. When you look at them, you immediately think of summer. They are easily the most fashionable sandals on the market, and the most popular summer shoes among teens. The only downside of Birkenstocks is that they are not water-resistant which poses an issue during many summer activities like hiking, going to the beach or swimming at the pool.
2) Chacos: Chacos are a great summer shoe because they are perfect for summer activities, especially hiking. They are completely water resistant and are very durable. One of its downsides; however, is that Chacos are often painful to the feet and can cause blisters of your toes and heels. Also, Chacos are commonly not as stylish as the Birkenstock, but can still be just as cute depending on your style. If you currently are or are hoping to soon become a “granola girl,” these shoes are perfect for you.
3) slides: In third place are the timeless slides. Slides have been a staple in fashion for as long as most people can remember. They have been rising in popularity ever since the Yeezy slides were released. Many people have purchased off-brand versions of these slides and wear them constantly. These slides face a lot of controversy on whether or not they are fashionable. Personally, I do not think they are very cute. These slides are very comfortable but are not that effective for everyday summer activities because they fall off easily. On the other hand, they are very easy to slide on and off making them efficient for a quick errand.
4) Flip-flops: Flip-flops are by far the worst summer shoes. First of all, the way that they are built gives you blisters in between your toes, and every time you slip the shoes back on, your blisters will re-open. Also, the hard material of the surface of the shoe does not provide comfort. The material maximizes sweat, while at the same time, grabbing up every grain of sand or dirt you walk past. On top of everything else, these shoes are ugly. There is almost no way to make a flip-flop look cute, securing its fourth-place ranking.
